FAQ

Common questions

Can a CO₂ laser mark metal?

Not bare metal well. Use a coating spray for a temporary mark, or a fiber laser for permanent metal marking.

Which software does it use?

Most CO₂ machines run LightBurn. Profiles are available on the downloads page.

What is the tube service life?

The laser tube has a service life measured in hours and is a predictable replacement cost. We confirm it in the quotation.

Can it cut and engrave?

Yes. CO₂ engraves deeply and cuts thin wood, acrylic and paper.

The DOSLASER CO₂ range includes a desktop model for flexible jobs and flying configurations for packaging lines and moving products. Because the 10.6 μm wavelength is absorbed well by organics, CO₂ gives deep, natural contrast on materials that fiber lasers struggle to mark.

Common CO₂ laser engraving jobs

  • Wood signs, gifts and personalisation
  • Acrylic awards, displays and keychains
  • Leather wallets, belts and tags
  • Glass engraving and paper marking

Most of our CO₂ machines run LightBurn, a widely used laser control program, so setup is straightforward. Download ready-made profiles from the manuals and downloads page, or compare models in the CO₂ laser series.

Desktop or inline CO₂ laser configuration

The T-C30 desktop model is made for workshops that switch between wood, acrylic, leather and gifts. For packaging and moving products, the YT-C flying series brings the same CO₂ marking to a production line, so you can mark without stopping the flow.

Because the source is air-cooled on most CO₂ models, setup stays simple and maintenance is limited to lens cleaning and routine checks.

Software and maintenance for CO₂ machines

Most DOSLASER CO₂ machines run LightBurn, so you can send jobs, set power and speed, and manage a material library from one program. Maintenance is mostly lens cleaning and checking the laser tube over its service life, which keeps running costs predictable. Ready-made profiles for common materials are available on the downloads page.

Compare with the fiber laser for metal and the UV laser for plastics and glass before deciding.
