FAQ

Common questions

What is a flying laser marking machine?

It is a laser marker designed to mark products while they move on a conveyor. A sensor or encoder triggers each mark, so the line does not need to stop.

Can it mark curved or uneven products?

Yes, within the focus range. The marking head and product position need to keep the surface inside the working distance.

Which laser source should I choose?

Fiber for metal and coated surfaces, CO₂ for wood, acrylic, leather and packaging, and UV for heat-sensitive plastics and glass.

Can it integrate with my conveyor?

Yes. We specify the mounting, photoelectric trigger and communication interface around your conveyor and line controller.

Do you provide a sample test?

Yes. Send us the product and the code layout you need, and we will arrange a sample mark.

Mark the product while it moves

Choose the wavelength for the material

Fiber laser (1064 nm) marks metals, coated materials and many plastics. CO₂ laser (10.6 μm) marks wood, acrylic, leather, paper and packaging. UV laser (355 nm) cold-marks heat-sensitive plastics, glass, packaging and electronics with minimal thermal damage.

Integration with the line

We confirm the marking area, line speed, trigger, mounting and extraction around your conveyor. Send a sample product and the code layout; we arrange a sample mark before you order. For products that cannot move, a static laser station is the better fit.

Integrating a flying laser marking machine

A flying laser marking machine marks products while they move, so the line does not stop and the product does not need a fixture. The laser fires on a trigger from a sensor or encoder, and the marking software shifts the pattern to follow the product. That makes it the right choice for serial numbers, date codes and logos on parts that pass on a conveyor at a steady speed.

Speed, gap and mounting

The limit is not the laser alone but the time the product spends inside the marking field. Faster lines and larger marks need more power or a shorter mark, and products that arrive with an irregular gap need a trigger that copes with the variation. Mount the head rigidly, keep the working distance fixed and protect it from vibration, because a millimetre of movement shows in the mark.

Send a video of the line and a drawing of the part; we will confirm whether a flying head fits or whether the part needs a stop station. Compare with the laser marking range and add traceability if each mark must be recorded. Background: laser marking.
